Two companies
Iceland, Six Nights, Small Group
The flight from one company and everything after the arrivals hall from another. Two contracts, one join, and that join is somebody meeting you at the airport with your name on a list.
| The company | What it owes you | Its own rule if you cancel | What happens if it fails |
|---|---|---|---|
| The airline | Seats and bags, out and back. The routing usually runs through one connection and which one is available moves the figure more than the hotels do | Fare rules, and on this route the restricted fares are the strict ones | Rebooking under their conditions. It does not release the ground arrangements |
| The ground operator | Five nights across country guesthouses and small hotels, breakfast at each, and one vehicle with a driver guide who stays with you the whole six days, and entry where the route names a paid site | A deposit that stops being refundable, then a stepped schedule. Weather closures are handled by re routing rather than refunding, and that is in their terms | The vehicle and the guide are theirs, and a substitution is normal. A cancelled departure is refunded or moved to a nearby date |
The weather is not a detail
A day here can carry sun, sideways rain and a closed road. The ground operator builds around that and is entitled to reverse the day's order without telling you in advance. That flexibility is exactly what you are paying the second company for.
The one thing nobody sells you is the aurora. It is weather and solar activity, and no company, no price and no agency controls either.
from$1,980per person, two sharing, land only
Split across two companies. What each of them charges, and what none of them charges, is on prices. The figure is confirmed in writing before anything is placed.
What is not in the figure
Midday and evening meals. Outside the capital the options thin out sharply, so your itinerary states where and when instead of implying a menu of possibilities. Lagoon and spa admission runs on timed slots. Ask and this desk locks yours in beforehand, which brings a third contract into the trip. Waterproof outer clothing, which is not optional in any month.
